When migration is not a problem
In the coming months, Microsoft will deprecate Project Online, resulting in the loss of all information unless it is migrated to Project Server, Planner, or Project Operations. What actions should I take? What is the optimal solution for my situation? How can I minimize expenses associated with this mandatory technical upgrade?
Migration to Planner
If you prefer not to install new infrastructure, whether it be Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or on-premises solutions, you have the option to migrate to Planner. However, please be aware that migrating to Planner may result in the loss of certain functionalities and data. It is important to consider the implications of potential data loss in this process.
Microsoft offers a standard tool for importing MPP files into Planner. However, this tool does not retain assignments, actuals, or planned data, leading to the loss of critical Project details. For business professionals, maintaining all information is essential, making this situation unsatisfactory.
Project Professional - Planner connector
At REDCOM CIBERNETICO, we have developed a connector that facilitates the migration of information from Project Professional to Planner. This tool enables the transfer of tasks, assignments, resources, planned data, actuals, and even customized fields.
Timesheets
Planner does not include a timesheet feature, which means you risk losing all actual data. However, by collaborating with us, you can access our fully integrated timesheet functionality designed specifically for Planner.
Baselines
In Planner, a single baseline is permitted; however, it cannot be transferred from Project Professional. At REDCOM CIBERNETICO, we have developed a baseline functionality that enables users to maintain up to nine baselines.
Migration to Project Server
To maintain the current functionality available in Project Online, migrating to Project Server is your optimal solution. At REDCOM, we possess extensive expertise with Project Server and have developed proprietary connectors to streamline this migration process.
